Couples Therapist: Stephanie Benson
Meet Stephanie, couples therapist at the Center for Couples and Families!
Stephanie is an Ohio native who set off on a new adventure to Utah in 2015. She is an intern therapist and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
On her journey to becoming a therapist, Stephanie has been working with at-risk adolescents in a residential treatment setting. She has gained experience guiding teens and their parents through issues involving mental illness, self-harm, trauma, substance abuse, addiction, promiscuity, rebellion, and more.
With a bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Learning Sciences, she also has an extensive background in education with a specialty in understanding how children and adolescents process information.
She lives for the “aha moments” and is excited to apply her skills toward her true passion for helping families, couples, and individuals have emotional and relational “aha moments.”
In her free time, you can find Stephanie hiking with her dog, cuddling on the couch with her cats, playing board games with friends, or dancing, acting, and singing in community theater.
